Nilgiris is a mountain and tourist center located in Bandarban district of Chittagong Hill Tracts. The Nilgiris are called the Darjeeling of Bangladesh. The hill is located fifty kilometers away from Bandarban district headquarters. The hill is 2200 feet high. Nilgiris tourist center is one of the most beautiful tourist centers in Bangladesh run by the army at the top of the Nilgiri hills.

Travel ways and roads:
To go to Nilgiris you have to come to Bandarban district first. Buses of S Alam, Saudia, Saint Martin Paribahan, Unique, Hanif Shyamoli, Dolphin etc. leave for Bandarban from different parts of Dhaka. The fare of these buses is Tk 800 for Non AC and Tk 1000 to Tk 1500 for AC. It takes 8 to 10 hours to go to Bandarban from Dhaka by bus.
If you want to go by train, you can go to Chittagong by Sonar Bangla Suvarna Express Tourna, Nishita, Mahanagar Godhuli trains from Dhaka to Chittagong. According to the category, the fare is Tk 350 to 1200. Besides, you can go directly to Chittagong by air from Dhaka.
Two buses named Pubali and Purbani ply from Baddarhat in Chittagong to Bandarban. These two buses cost Tk 250 per person. You can go to Bandarban by bus from Chittagong's Dampara bus stand for Tk 300.

Bandarban to Nilgiris
Nilgiris can be reached from Bandarban by Jeep/Chander Car/Mahendra/CNG or local bus. It is best to take a reserve vehicle. By doing this, you can visit some other places around. If you have to go and come back in a day then you can arrange a car from Bandarban jeep station for 3000 to 5000 rupees depending on the type of vehicle. Chander cars can carry 12 to 14 people. Landcruiser type jeeps can carry 7 people, smaller jeeps can carry 4 to 5 people. And CNG can seat 3 to 4. If there is no problem on the road, it will take two to two and a half hours. If you want to see clouds in the Nilgiris, you have to leave very early so that you can reach the Nilgiris between 7 am and 8 am.
** If the number of members is less or if you want to go at a lower cost, you can go by local bus, but it will take more time. The bus leaves for Thanchi after one hour from Thanchi bus stand and the fare is 150 taka. On the way to the Nilgiris, tourists have to register their names and addresses at army check posts for security reasons. Normally after 5 pm no vehicles are allowed to go to Nilgiris. So take care of the time before traveling. Tourists are charged Tk 50 per person for tickets and a separate Tk 300 for car parking to visit the Nilgiris tourist center.
Travel plan:
On the way to Nilgiris one has to pass Milanchari View Point, Shail Prapat Jharna, Shairu Hill Resort and Chimbuk Tourist Center. If you take a reserve car, you can spend some time in these sports. Time to fix the car should be told in advance. But it is best to go directly to the Nilgiris in the morning, then you will see the clouds. On the way back some time can be spent at Chumbuk Pahar and then at Shail Prapat Jharna. And on the way you have to get down at the check post at Milanchari View Point then you can see the beautiful scenery from there. It's up to you which person to see first.

Accommodation in Nilgiris is provided in Army controlled Corteges. To stay in six cottages, the rent per room will be Rs. 4000/= to Rs. 10,000/= but if you want to stay in Nilgiri resort, you have to book in advance and for booking you will need a reference of a known officer at the level of an army officer. As this resort is attractive to everyone, rooms are usually not available unless booked 1 month in advance, especially during holidays.

**Hotel Riverview: The location of the hotel is located on the banks of Sangu River in the city. Rent 600 to 2000 taka.
**Tourist Motel: Located next to mountains and lakes. Meghalaya is located four kilometers away from the city. Rent 1200 to 2500 Tk.
Meals:
There is a restaurant in the Nilgiris. But if you want to eat there, you have to order in advance. Or you can come back and eat in Bandarban city. It is better to take some dry food with you while going. Bandarban city has several restaurants for dining. Among them Tajingdong Cafe, Meghdut Cafe, Food Place Restaurant, Rupsi Bangla Restaurant and many other restaurants have facilities for food.
